Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist Assistant for assignments in Abilene, Texas. This 13-week contract requires working 40 hours per week, days shift, under supervision of an Occupational Therapist.

Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, guiding patients in daily living skills, recording progress, and collaborating with the care team. Required are 1 year of OTA experience, BLS and NBCOT COTA, and state licensure.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
• Current BLS and COTA National certification; state licensure required
• Ability to lift and assist patients safely; strong communication/interpersonal skills
• Solid understanding of anatomy, motor function, and occupational therapy principles

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of an OT to help patients develop, improve, or recover daily living and working skills
• Assist in implementing treatment plans tailored to each patient's goals
• Deliver therapeutic activities and interventions as directed by the supervising OT
• Monitor patient progress and report observations to the OT
• Document patient performance and progress per facility and state guidelines
• Assist patients with exercises, mobility training, and use of adaptive equipment
• Educate patients and families on techniques to improve independence
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas and equipment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated care
• Comply with state licensing rules and adhere to facility and professional standards
