Job summary

Castle Dental in the San Antonio area seeks a Travel Oral Surgery Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to support multiple practice locations and surgical teams. The role requires frequent travel between Castle Dental sites and adapting to varied provider workflows while delivering high-quality chairside support.

The ideal candidate will have an active RDA credential, prior dental assisting experience, and strong oral surgery exposure.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Dental Assistant credential required.
• Previous dental assisting experience required.
• Oral Surgery experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with surgical procedures and specialty dentistry preferred.
• Periodontics, Endodontics, or Orthodontics experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and infection control protocols.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with different providers and dental teams.
• Highly adaptable, dependable, and comfortable working in multiple locations.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout the San Antonio area.

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance to oral surgeons during surgical and specialty procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for oral surgery procedures.
• Assist with patient preparation and positioning before, during, and after procedures.
• Support providers during surgical procedures while maintaining excellent patient care.
• Obtain and document patient information and clinical history as appropriate.
• Take and develop dental radiographs as permitted by applicable requirements.
• Maintain proper infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols.
• Provide patients with appropriate post-operative instructions as directed by the provider.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records.
• Work collaboratively with dentists, oral surgeons, dental assistants, and front-office team members.
• Adapt to different office locations, providers, schedules, and workflows.
• Travel between Castle Dental locations throughout the San Antonio area based on business‑needs.
• Provide a positive, professional, and compassionate patient experience.
