TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The OR Travel Nurse will assist physicians and staff in caring for surgical patients, provide pre- and post-surgery education, and work as circulating, scrub, or RN first assistant as needed.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience as circulating nurse, scrub nurse, or RN first assistant.
• ACLS, BLS and PALS certifications required.
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods; lift up to 50 lb.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients and provide pre- and post-surgery education.
• Prepare, administer and document medications and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Communicate with patients’ families between the operating team.
• Ensure correct procedures are performed on the correct patient and document outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on home care and medication management.
