Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing‑Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a 13‑week travel assignment in San Angelo, Texas. The OR RN will prepare the operating room, assist with patient positioning, maintain sterile technique, and collaborate with the surgical team to deliver safe, high‑quality care.

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• ACLS (AHA/ARC) preferred.
• PALS (AHA/ARC) preferred.
• ENPC Certifications may be required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room and ensures instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready.
• Assists in positioning and preparing patients for surgery while ensuring safety.
• Maintains a sterile field and adheres to infection control protocols.
• Anticipates needs of the surgical team and provides instruments and supplies.
• Monitors patient condition and documents changes during surgery.
• Handles instruments, sterilization, and disposal per protocol.
• Documentation of patient care in perioperative setting.
• Participates in handoff communication pre- and post-operatively.
