Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an OR travel nurse to support operating room teams in Ironwood, Michigan. The role focuses on circulating and possibly scrub nursing duties, with a travel assignment of 13 weeks and standard 40 hours per week across 10-hour daytime shifts.

Responsibilities include bedside care, medication administration, patient education, and ensuring procedure accuracy. RN First Assistant duties may be required for selected cases within the OR team.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience as a circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse, and potentially RN first assistant.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required before starting.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications, reporting adverse reactions.
• Serve as liaison between patients’ families and the operating team.
• Ensure correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
• Assist in circulating or scrub duties and materials management during procedures.
• Assist physicians by delivering direct surgical care and helping control bleeding as RN First Assistant.
