Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Operating Room RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Fargo, ND. The OR RN will provide comprehensive perioperative care, prepare the OR, and collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and high-quality outcomes.

The role requires at least 1 year of OR RN experience, a valid RN license, and a current BLS certification. Travel benefits include competitive pay and support from a dedicated clinical team.

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room by ensuring all required instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready and functional for each surgical procedure.
• Assists in positioning and preparing patients for surgery, addressing concerns and ensuring comfort and safety according to procedural requirements.
• Maintains a sterile field throughout procedures and adheres to infection control protocols.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgical team, providing instruments, supplies, and support to maintain efficient workflow.
• Monitors the patient's condition during surgery and notifies the surgeon of significant changes.
• Manages specimen collection, labeling, and transport according to facility protocols.
• Documents all aspects of patient care in the perioperative setting accurately.
• Participates in handoff communication during pre- and post-operative phases.
• Assists in cleaning and restocking the operating room and adheres to turnover protocols.
• Follows hospital safety rules, PPE usage, and infection prevention measures.
