Job summary

TotalMed is seeking an OR travel nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment in West Des Moines, IA. The role offers 40 hours per week with 10-hour day shifts. Travel status requires 1–2 years of acute care experience as circulating/scrub nurse, and possibly RN First Assistant.

Responsibilities include perioperative patient care, education, and collaboration with the surgical team. The position includes typical travel benefits and a tax-free stipend may be determined.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS required.
• 1-2 years acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse.
• RN First Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and staff in caring for surgical patients.
• Provide pre- and post-surgery education to patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications; report adverse reactions.
• Monitor patient status during surgery and respond to complications.
• Maintain sterile technique and handle instruments and equipment.
