Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an OR travel nurse to operate in Farmington, CT. This role focuses on circulating and scrub duties, RN first assistant responsibilities, and perioperative patient care across 10-hour day shifts on a 40-hour weekly schedule.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of acute care experience, ACLS/BLS, and flexibility to support OR teams with instrument handling, patient education, and post-operative care. Travel-specific benefits apply.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience as circulating nurse or scrub nurse.
• RN First Assistant experience is a plus.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required or as stated in requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed meds; report adverse reactions.
• Serve as liaison between patients' families and operating team.
• Ensure correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate education plan for patients and families post-surgery.
