Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN - OR for a 16-week travel assignment in Bowling Green, KY. Start date 09/28/2026, 36 hours per week on 12-hour day shifts, with comprehensive benefits and support from a clinical team.

The OR RN will prep the OR, manage surgical equipment, and collaborate with the team to deliver safe, patient-centered perioperative care in a facility setting. Requires RN license, 1 year OR experience, and current BLS; ACLS/PALS/ENPC or CNOR are

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room with instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies for each procedure.
• Assists in positioning and preparing patients for surgery, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Maintains a sterile field and adheres to infection control protocols throughout procedures.
• Anticipates team needs and provides instruments and supplies to maintain workflow.
• Monitors patient condition during surgery and notifies the surgeon of significant changes.
• Handles instruments and supplies, ensuring proper use, sterilization and disposal.
• Manages specimen collection, labeling, and transport per protocols.
• Documents patient care during the perioperative period accurately.
• Performs handoffs between pre- and post-operative phases for continuity of care.
• Cleans and restocks the operating room between cases while following turnover protocols.
• Collaborates with the surgical team to ensure policy and safety compliance.
• Follows PPE and infection prevention measures and hospital safety rules.
• Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
