Job summary

TotalMed is seeking an Operating Room travel nurse (RN) in Powell, TN for a 13-week assignment. The position offers 40 hours per week, with 10-hour day shifts.

Incumbent will participate in perioperative care as circulating, scrub, or first assistant as needed, with travel benefits through TotalMed RN. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of acute care experience in the OR, supports physicians and staff, and will provide patient education before and after surgery.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years recent acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse; RN first assistant possible.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Must be able to stand, walk long periods; lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and staff in caring for surgical patients and provide pre- and post-surgery education.
• Perform circulating or scrub duties as assigned; ensure instrument and equipment readiness.
• Monitor patient during surgery and respond to potential complications alongside the physician.
• Communicate with patients' families as a liaison and document administration of medications.
