Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an OR - Operating Room travel nurse for a 13-week assignment in Amarillo, TX. The RN will assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients, provide pre- and post-surgery care and education, and work as a circulating or scrub nurse, potentially RN first assistant.

The role requires 1–2 years of recent acute care experience as a circulating or scrub nurse, BLS certification, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• 1 year of acute care experience as circulator/scrub RN.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and staff in caring for surgical patients.
• Provide pre- and post-surgery care and patient education.
• Prepare instruments and equipment for procedures; manage sterile field.
• Monitor patient and respond to complications with the surgical team.
• Communicate with patient families and hospital staff during surgery.
