Job summary

HealthTrust Workforce Solutions is seeking a Travel Nurse RN for OR in Selma, Alabama. This 13-week assignment requires 40 hours per week, weekdays, with a 6:30am-3pm shift and a rotating call schedule (7 days per month, including one weekend).

This role requires ACLS, BLS & PALS; Alabama RN or multi-state license; 4 years OR RN experience; Endoscopy/Orthopedic/General OR experience; travel employment with hospital setting preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have ACLS, BLS & PALS certifications (American Heart Association)
• Must have AL RN or multi-state RN license
• Must have 4 years recent OR RN experience in hospital setting
• Experience in OR Circulator with Endoscopy
• Facility OR Specialties: Endoscopy/Orthopedic/General; ENT/GYN preferred
• The shifts: Monday–Friday 6:30am–3pm; Call 7 days per month including one weekend (3pm–6:30am)

Responsibilities

• The Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking, scientific judgment and leadership in planning patient care in the operating room.
• Work with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, ORT’s and staff to provide patient care per policies and standards.
• Responsibilities include ensuring supplies, timeliness of cases, communication with families, updating physician preference cards, scrubbing and assisting physicians during surgical cases, and supervising personnel delivering patient care.

The Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of the patient in the operating room. As a member of the surgical team the RN works with the Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, ORT’s and other personnel to provide patient care in the Operating Room according to State Nurse Practice Act, AORN and regulatory standards, physician orders, policies and procedures of the Hospital and the Surgical Department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: ensuring supplies, timeliness of cases, communication with families, updating of physician preference cards, scrubbing and assisting physicians during surgical cases, and supervision of personnel delivering patient care.

Facility Requirements:

• Must have ACLS, BLS & PALS certifications, must be attached to the submission packet (Must be through the American Heart Association)
• Must have AL RN or multi-state RN license, must be attached to resume
• Must have 4 years recent OR RN experience in a hospital setting
• Experience in OR Circulator with Endoscopy experience
• Facility OR Specialties: Endoscopy/Orthopedic/General required, prefer to also have ENT/GYN experience
• The shifts will be Monday-Friday 6:30am-3pm; Call is 7 days per month including one weekend a month. Call is spread through out the month & will be from 3pm-6:30am
