Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Selma, Alabama.

The assignment runs 13 weeks starting 10/05/2026 with a 40-hour workweek and 8-hour day shifts. Must hold Alabama RN or multistate license, ACLS/BLS/PALS, and have 4+ years in the OR. OR Circulator experience with Endoscopy, Orthopedic, and General surgeries is required or preferred. Housing and benefits are provided as part of travel pay.

Qualifications

• Alabama RN license or multistate license required
• Minimum 4 years recent OR RN experience in hospital setting
• Experience as OR Circulator with Endoscopy, Orthopedic, and General surgeries preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare supplies and set up surgical equipment
• Assist physicians during surgeries and maintain sterile field
• Communicate with patients’ families and update physician preference cards
• Scrub and circulate during procedures and supervise other staff delivering patient care

Job Summary

Operating Room Nurse position available in a healthcare facility within the Operating Room specialty. The role involves demonstrating critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership to provide patient-centered surgical care. The nurse collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, operating room technicians, and other staff to ensure the delivery of safe and efficient surgical services, adhering to regulatory standards, policies, and physician orders.

Job Details

• Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week. The assignment is scheduled to start on 10/05/2026 and will end on 01/04/2027.
• Required Qualifications: Must have ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications obtained through the American Heart Association; must hold an Alabama RN or multistate RN license; minimum of 4 years recent operating room (OR) registered nurse experience in a hospital setting; experience in OR Circulator with Endoscopy, Orthopedic, and General specialties required; preferred experience with ENT and GYN procedures.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in endoscopy, orthopedic, general, ENT, and GYN surgical procedures.
• Additional Information: The operating room team will handle procedures across multiple specialties, with responsibilities including preparing supplies, assisting physicians during surgeries, maintaining communication with patients families, updating physician preference cards, scrubbing, and supervising personnel delivering patient care.
