Job summary

TotalMed RN seeks an Operating Room travel nurse in Billings, MT for a 13-week assignment. The OR RN will assist physicians and staff in caring for surgical patients, providing pre- and post-surgery care, with 40 hours per week on 10-hour day shifts.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurses, and possibly RN first assistant duties. Travel, benefits apply, with mandatory BLS/ACLS certifications prior to start.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience as a circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse, and potentially RN first assistant.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required before assignment.
• Travel RN in OR setting with 10-hour shifts and 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and document prescribed medications and report adverse reactions.
• Act as liaison between patients' families and the operating team.
• Ensure the correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education on medications and home care needs.
