Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in State College, Pennsylvania. The role requires adapting to various OR environments, including PACU and pain management areas, with responsibilities extending to patient education and operational support.

The position offers a 13-week assignment with a 12-hour shift and a 36-hour workweek, with a tax-free stipend and comprehensive travel benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid nursing license and 1 year of OR or surgical nursing experience.
• Knowledge of diagnostic measures such as labs, radiology, and EKG.
• IV therapy skills are required.
• Preferred: PACU experience and familiarity with anesthesia supplies, nerve blocks, and emergency meds.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and implement nursing care during surgical procedures.
• Communicate assessments and care plans to the care team and ensure safe patient care.
• Act as patient advocate and provide education to patients and families.
• Document in clinical records accurately and timely; manage supplies to control costs.
• Assist with PACU duties, pain management, and transfer procedures when needed.
