NurseStar Medical Partners LLC has a travel nursing assignment for a circulating nurse at a 25-bed critical access hospital in Arcata, California. The role supports the OR team before, during, and after surgery, ensuring a safe, sterile environment.

The position runs 13 weeks, with 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday and occasional evenings/weekends on call; starts November 2, 2026. Compensation is $2,300 to $2,500 gross per week.

Qualifications

• Active California RN license is required.
• Essential life support certifications (e.g., BLS/ACLS).
• Experience as a circulating nurse in OR setting.
• Ability to maintain sterile environment throughout procedures.
• Strong patient care before, during, and after surgery.
• Attention to detail and documentation of procedure.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile environment throughout the surgical procedure.
• Prepare the operating room with necessary equipment and supplies.
• Ensure all surgical instruments are sterilized and functioning.
• Monitor the surgical team to maintain a sterile environment.
• Assist in positioning the patient safely before the surgery.
• Verify patient information and surgical site before the procedure begins.
• Document all aspects of the surgical procedure in the patient’s chart.

Schedule: 8-hr. shifts Monday — Friday (either 6:00am — 2:30pm or 7:00am — 3:30pm) and share call hours evenings and weekends.

• Prepare the operating room with necessary equipment and supplies
• Ensure all surgical instruments are sterilized and functioning

• Assist in positioning the patient safely before the surgery

• Document all aspects of the surgical procedure in the patient’s chart
