Job summary
HealthForce Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse for an OR circulating role in Fortuna, California on a travel, temporary assignment spanning multiple weeks. Endoscopy experience is required, and the incumbent must hold an active California RN license with ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications to support perioperative care in a rural setting.
The nurse will circulate in OR and PACU, assist with recovery, monitor vitals, and coordinate with anesthesia, surgery, and other services.
Qualifications
- Active California RN license, ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications are required.
- Minimum 1 year of OR circulating and PACU experience; endoscopy experience is required.
- Willingness to float to nearby facilities and participate in on-call and holiday coverage as described.
Responsibilities
- Circulate and assist in the PACU for OR cases; manage perioperative supplies and sterile technique
- Provide recovery nursing care post-anesthesia, including monitoring vitals
- Support endoscopy procedures and assist with patient positioning and equipment setup
- Monitor cardiac status and respond to perioperative emergencies per protocol
- Collaborate with anesthesia, respiratory services, pharmacy, and unit secretary for safe patient flow
- Document patient care activities in the charting system (Epic preferred) and maintain perioperative records
