Job summary

American Traveler Staffing Professionals seeks a Travel Surgical Technologist for an Ambulatory Surgery Center position in San Rafael, CA. Requires ophthalmology experience and a minimum of 5 years of related work. Openings are 1 with no weekends or on-call, 2x12-hr days, totaling 24 hrs/wk.

The role offers a competitive weekly pay with OT and stipends. Start ASAP for an 8-week assignment with potential for extension. Minimum qualifications include CST or OR Tech training and BLS.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of related experience required.
• Minimum of 1 year of related experience or training in a clinical setting and surgical scrub experience in an ambulatory surgery facility.
• Graduate of an approved course for OR Surgical Technologists.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgical team members during operative procedures, including preparing sterile set-ups and passing instruments.
• Prepares surgical suite, supplies, and equipment to meet safety and infection control standards.
• Performs surgical scrub duties for pre-operative patient care.
• Assists RN with patient preparation, transfers, and counting procedures.
• Participates in time-out processes and identifies unsafe conditions.
• Assists with room turnover, cleanup, patient transport, and positioning.
• Maintains and orders inventory based on scheduled procedures and stock levels.
• Provides new employee orientation and training support as needed.
