American Traveler is seeking a travel OR RN in Columbia, SC. The position is a travel assignment with 4x10 hour days, 6:30am–5:00pm, ASAP start and a 13-week duration. The role requires an SC or compact RN license and at least 2 years of OR nursing experience.

On-call duties include 5pm starts on certain days and periodic weekend calls. Travel experience preferred; non-taxed per diem and stipends offered, with comprehensive benefits and travel reimbursements.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a current SC or compact license and at least 2 years of OR nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room of an acute care hospital
• Day shift schedule with 4x10 hour shifts, 6:30am to 5:00pm
• On-call required: one to two call days per week starting at 5pm, plus one call weekend every five weeks (48-hour call from Saturday morning to Monday morning)
• Floating within scope to similar units or sister facilities is required
• Hospital-issued OR scrubs provided
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Provide intraoperative nursing care and support to surgical teams
• Must be able to complete required modules prior to start
• First time travelers are accepted for this position
• Previous permanent staff (including PRN) must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Block scheduling may be considered with manager approval based on unit needs
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application and is subject to facility approval
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a reduced pay rate

Requirements

• Active SC or multi-state compact RN license in hand or pending with ability to complete SC walkthrough process
• Minimum 2 years of recent OR RN experience required
• Current BLS certification (AHA accepted only)
• Radiation badge (to be provided by agency)
• Social Security Number and Driver's License required for consideration
