Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing seeks an Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in San Jose, CA. The RN evaluates, plans, implements and documents oncology care under physician direction, in hospitals and outpatient centers where cancer treatments are delivered.

In hospitals, the RN assists with surgery prep, patient education and treatment coordination. In outpatient centers, the nurse helps with chemotherapy and infusions, monitors vitals, manages side effects and pain, and ensures

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state practicing.
• One year oncology nursing experience preferred.
• OCN certification preferred.
• CPR certification if applicable.
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, implement and document nursing care for oncology patients under physician direction.
• In hospital settings, assist with surgery prep, patient education and coordination of cancer treatments.
• In outpatient centers, assist with chemotherapy and infusions, monitoring vitals, side effects and pain.
