Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Oncology Med/Surg for a travel nursing job in Bismarck, North Dakota. The assignment requires a ND or compact license, 2+ years Med/Surg in acute care, BLS and NIHSS, and the ability to titrate drips. The position features 12-hour nights, 36 hours per week, and a 13-week duration.

Qualifications

• Active ND or compact RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience in an acute care environment.
• Certifications: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Experience titrating drips (Lasix and Heparin).
• Driver's license required for consideration.
• Two professional references: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference within the last 3 years.
• Not eligible if employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care hospital setting on the Med/Surg Oncology unit.
• Unit has 31 beds and cares for adult and geriatric patients with multiple diagnoses.
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 days, 1:5-6 nights.
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts and every-other-weekend requirement.
• Floating to other Med/Surg units and occasional ER holds; travelers prioritized.
• Uses Epic EMR system.
