Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist for a travel assignment in Salinas, California. This OT role focuses on evaluation and development of a plan of care for a variety of patients needing to improve, regain and develop skills for daily life in an acute care setting.

The assignment runs for 13 weeks at 35 hours per week, with 8-hour day shifts. The role requires 6 months of experience (6 months accepted for exceptional candidates) and BLS + NBCOT-OTR licensure.

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply.
• Must have BLS and NBCOT-OTR National Certification with state-specific licensing.
• OTs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty.
• OTs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Review patients' medical history, ask questions, and observe tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's condition and needs.
• Develop a treatment plan with specific goals and activities.
• Help patients with various disabilities perform tasks.
• Evaluate home or workplace and identify potential improvements.
• Educate patient’s family and employer about care accommodations.
• Recommend equipment and instruct patients on use.
• Record activities and progress for evaluations and reporting.
