Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist for an Acute Care Hospital setting. Must have 1+ year acute care experience with BLS and NBCOT certification, plus Kentucky OT license or compact license.

Experience with prosthetics/orthotics, splinting techniques, and modalities (electrical stimulation, TENS, ultrasound, edema massage) is required. Ability to educate patients/families and develop home exercise programs is essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ year acute care experience required.
• BLS, NBCOT and KY OT license required (or compact license).
• Experience with prosthetics/orthotics and splinting techniques.
• Proficiency with modalities: electrical stimulation, TENS, ultrasound, edema massage.
• Experience with patient/family education, home exercise programs, lifting and transfer techniques.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care hospital with a fast-paced environment.
• Provide care for medically complex adult patients including amputees and ortho cases.
• Daily 7:30 AM–4:30 PM, 5x8 schedule; utilize FIM and adaptive equipment assessments.
• Document assessments, plans of care, reassessments, and discharge planning.
• Educate patients and families on safety, home exercise programs and injury prevention.
• Occasional travel considerations; ensure timely RTO and emergency access.
