Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist for a 13-week assignment in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The OT will evaluate and develop a plan of care for patients to improve daily living skills in an acute care setting.

The role requires 6 months of OT experience (new grads welcome), BLS and NBCOT-OTR with state licensing. Responsibilities include patient evaluation, treatment planning, and documenting progress; travel, 40 hours/week, 10-hour shifts, days.

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months of OT experience; new grads are encouraged to apply.
• BLS and NBCOT-OTR National Certification with state-specific licensing.
• OTs must be able to stand and walk for long periods and have knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
• Additional certifications may be required before starting an assignment.

Responsibilities

• Review patients' medical history, ask questions, and observe tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's condition and needs.
• Develop a treatment plan with goals and activities to reach them.
• Educate family and employer on care, accommodations, and equipment use.
• Record patient activities and progress for evaluations and billing.
