Job summary

TotalMed Allied seeks a travel Occupational Therapist for a 13-week assignment in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The position runs 40 hours per week with a standard 8-hour day, supporting patients in various settings during travel assignments.

Requirements include BLS and NBCOT-OTR certification, along with state licensing. Candidates with at least 6 months of experience are encouraged to apply; new grads welcome. Duties cover assessment, treatment planning, patient education, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply.
• Must have BLS and NBCOT-OTR National Certification with state-specific licensing.
• Occupational Therapists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty.
• OTs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Review patients' medical history, ask the patients questions, and observe them doing tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's condition and needs.
• Develop a treatment plan for patients, identifying specific goals and the types of activities that will be used to help the patient work toward those goals.
• Help people with various disabilities perform different tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's home or workplace and, on the basis of the patient's health needs, identify potential improvements.
• Educate a patient's family and employer about how to accommodate and care for the patient.
• Recommend special equipment and instruct patients on how to use that equipment.
• Assess and record patient's activities and progress for patient evaluations, for billing, and for reporting to physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines.
