Job summary

TotalMed Allied in Guthrie, OK is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist (OT) for an immediate opening. The OT will evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and educate families and employers while documenting progress and adhering to guidelines.

The role requires 1 year of experience (6 months may be acceptable for exceptional candidates), BLS and NBCOT-OTR certification with state licensing, and the ability to stand and walk for long periods. Travel with flexible scheduling is involved.

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months of OT experience; new grads encouraged.
• BLS and NBCOT-OTR National Certification with state licensing.
• OTs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean or stoop as needed.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Review patients' medical history, ask questions, and observe them performing tasks.
• Evaluate a patient\'s condition and needs.
• Develop a treatment plan with goals and activities to help the patient progress.
• Educate patient\'s family and employer on how to accommodate and care for the patient.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist (OT) for an immediate travel opening in Guthrie, OK. OT should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements.

Tasks

• Review patients' medical history, ask the patients questions, and observe them doing tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's condition and needs.
• Develop a treatment plan for patients, identifying specific goals and the types of activities that will be used to help the patient work toward those goals.
• Help people with various disabilities perform different tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's home or workplace and, on the basis of the patient's health needs, identify potential improvements.
• Educate a patient's family and employer about how to accommodate and care for the patient.
• Recommend special equipment and instruct patients on how to use that equipment.
• Assess and record patient's activities and progress for patient evaluations, for billing, and for reporting to physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines.

Requirements

• Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply.
• Must have BLS and NBCOT-OTR National Certification with state-specific licensing.

• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
• Occupational Therapists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty.
