Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment in Rockford, Illinois. The OT will work 40 hours per week with 8-hour day shifts and must have 1 year of experience (6 months accepted for exceptional candidates).

Immediate opening with requirements outlined above. We seek candidates able to perform evaluations, develop and implement treatment plans, educate families, and document progress per guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of OT experience; new grads are welcome.
• Must have BLS and NBCOT-OTR certification with state licensing.
• OTs should be able to stand and walk for long periods and have knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Review patients' medical history, ask questions, and observe tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's condition and needs.
• Develop a treatment plan with goals and activities to reach those goals.
• Help patients with various disabilities perform tasks.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist (OT) for an immediate travel opening in Rockford, IL. OT should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements.

Tasks

As an OT, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Review patients' medical history, ask the patients questions, and observe them doing tasks.


• Evaluate a patient's condition and needs.


• Develop a treatment plan for patients, identifying specific goals and the types of activities that will be used to help the patient work toward those goals.


• Help people with various disabilities perform different tasks.


• Evaluate a patient's home or workplace and, on the basis of the patient's health needs, identify potential improvements.


• Educate a patient's family and employer about how to accommodate and care for the patient.


• Recommend special equipment and instruct patients on how to use that equipment.


• Assess and record patient's activities and progress for patient evaluations, for billing, and for reporting to physicians and other healthcare providers.


• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines.

Requirements

Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply. Must have BLS and NBCOT-OTR National Certification with state-specific licensing.

Occupational Therapists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. OTs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
