Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist with 1-2 years of experience and pediatric experience for a critical access hospital offering both inpatient and outpatient therapy services.

Details

• Acute care setting in a Critical Access Hospital (CAH)
• Covers both outpatient and inpatient areas
• Patient population includes outpatient orthopedic upper extremity, lymphedema, inpatient total joint replacements, inpatient general medical, neurological impairments, and outpatient mental health
• Treats approximately 8-12 patients per day
• Adult outpatient, adult acute inpatient, and adult swing bed care
• Epic EMR used
• Schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm with flexibility for 4 or 5 days per week
• No weekend or holiday requirements
• 1 rehab aide on staff, no COTAs

Requirements

• Occupational Therapy license required if applicable
• BLS certification required
• NBCOT certification preferred but not required
• 1-2 years of experience required, 3-4 years preferred
• Pediatric experience required
• Skilled in physical agent modality use and application
• Familiar with DME and adaptive equipment use
• Able to fabricate and modify splints for upper extremity and therapeutic management
• Able to perform wheelchair evaluations
• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
• Able to work independently with clinical skills and problem solving

• Director of Rehab Services on-site daily for support
• 1 shift of unit/department specific orientation, flexible scheduling
• Professional casual dress code, scrubs allowed
• No clinical involvement required
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) with any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year
• RTO must be requested upfront; additional RTO will not be approved after submission
• First-time travelers not specified as excluded
