Job summary

TotalMed Allied seeks an Occupational Therapist for an immediate travel opening in Arlington, TX. 1 year of experience required; exceptional candidates with 6 months may be considered.

The OT will evaluate and develop a plan of care for patients to improve daily living skills in an acute care setting. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, creating treatment plans, and educating families, with documentation in line with state and insurance guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply.
• Must have BLS and NBCOT-OTR National Certification with state-specific licensing.
• OTs must be able to stand and walk for long periods and have knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
• BLS, NBCOT (OTR) and 2 years experience noted as requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review patients' medical history, ask questions, and observe tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's condition and needs.
• Develop a treatment plan with goals and activities to reach them.
• Assist patients with various disabilities to perform tasks.
• Assess home or workplace for needed improvements.
• Educate family and employer on accommodating and caring for the patient.
• Recommend equipment and instruct on its use.
• Document progress for evaluations, billing, and physicians.
