Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Observation Unit position requiring IL licensure, EPIC charting, and Level 1 Trauma experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Observation Unit within a hospital medical setting
• Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 3 shifts per week
• Patient care follows nursing process standards for an Observation/Medical unit
• Requires frequent assessment and management of IV sites
• Uses EPIC as the primary EMR system
• Responsible for initial assessments and development of appropriate care plans
• Must identify and respond to changes in patient status promptly
• Required to maintain documentation standards and attend staff meetings as scheduled
• No local candidates within 50 miles will be considered
• Requested time off not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
• Maximum of one year cumulative assignment at Carle Health before a mandatory 6-month break
• No travel partners are accepted for this assignment
• Must comply with departmental competencies and quarterly chart audits

Requirements

• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
