General Information
Unit Specifics:
Number of Beds : 16
Patient Ratios : 2:1, sometimes 1:1 or 3:1 depending on acuity/staffing
Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability): unit secretary staffed during dayshift. Occasional nurse extern working as a tech.
Type of equipment: Ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, EV 1000.
Documentation system: Meditech
Scheduling requirements: Minimum weekend requirement is 4 weekend shifts per schedule. Schedule is done in 4 week increments. Self-scheduling to an extent. Manager will move shifts to balance out schedule.
Floating policy: Contract labor is first to float. If the staffing need is in med/surg, contract labor is expected to float to med/surg and take the assignment.
Patient Experience requirements: Expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to patients/family members.
