The role emphasizes adherence to evidence-based practices and quick adaptation to a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

• Position Description: 32-bed unit with all private rooms, nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 for telemetry patients and 1:5 for medical-surgical patients. The unit manages a variety of patient conditions, including cardiac, stroke, COVID, forensic, and post-op cases.
• Required Qualifications: Licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse, at least 2 years of clinical experience, BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS certification, Cerner experience preferred, and the ability to interpret cardiac rhythms on GE monitors.
• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, with weekends (Fri/Sat for nights) and holidays (one major and one minor minimum).
• Responsibilities: Provide patient care for telemetry, manage set rate drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Heparin, read and interpret cardiac rhythms, and uphold hospital policies such as bedside shift report and hourly rounding.
• Additional Information: Unit has a structured orientation of 1-2 shifts with a preceptor. Staff are expected to uphold high standards of safety and attendance, with strict policy enforcement. The unit allows float to other hospitals and units, including ICU and ER, for appropriate patients.
