Position Summary

• Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Pediatrics B4 Hematology/Oncology unit.


• The RN will provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to pediatric patients with hematology and oncology conditions.


• The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced pediatric environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to pediatric Hematology/Oncology patients.


• Perform patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment implementation.


• Monitor and evaluate patient progress and respond to clinical changes.


• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.


• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.


• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital policies.


• Float to Emergency Department (ED) for inpatient holds as needed.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 24 months of Pediatric and/or Oncology nursing experience (Required)


• Active Iowa (IA) RN license or Compact/Multistate license at time of submission (Required)


• AHA or ARC BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification (Required)


• AHA PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Certification (Required)


• APHON (Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses) Certification (Required)
