Job Summary:

The specialty, step down unit, is located in an academic Level I or II trauma center. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to acutely ill surgical and trauma patients, including those with complex medical conditions such as transplant and ventilator dependency. The position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Job Details:

Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.

Required Qualifications:

Valid WI registered nurse (RN) license or compact RN license; minimum two years of acute care experience within the last three years in the specialty; two years of inpatient RN experience.

Certifications:

ACLS, BLS.

Experience:

Telemetry management, vent management, transplant care, and acute care experience required.

Skills:

Managing ports, arterial lines, blood products, cardiac telemetry, ventilated patient care, central line management, wound care, and specialized procedures for trauma and transplant patients.

Additional Information:

Must pass a telemetry test prior to start with two attempts; adult and pediatric exams with strict passing criteria involving identification of lethal rhythms and dysrhythmias. Time off requests approved for one period; orientation includes 36 hours. Standard floating may be required as per hospital policy. The position requires compliance with the local rule of 50 miles from the facility, with no considerations for local candidates.
