Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing assignment in Anchorage, Alaska. The assignment will begin on 07/20/2026 for 13 weeks, requiring 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts.

Job Summary

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is based in Anchorage, Alaska. This role involves providing specialized care on a step‑down unit from the Intensive Care Unit, supporting a diverse patient population with various medical and surgical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide step‑down unit patient care in a 12‑hour night shift schedule (4x12 or 3x12).
• Support a wide variety of diagnoses including cardiac, respiratory, neuro, renal, and complex medical‑surgical patients requiring high‑level monitoring.
• Work flexibly with the Co‑Care/Virtual Nursing Model, providing remote virtual RN support and bedside RN teams.
• Adhere to vaccination (Hepatitis B) and holiday/work‑time requirements.
• Maintain an active Alaska registered nurse license and be ready to present it upon assignment start.

Qualifications

• Alaska Registered Nurse license.
• 0+ years of RN experience (the role is open to newly licensed RNs).
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Experience in a step‑down unit from ICU preferred.
• Proficiency with Epic charting system preferred.
• Willingness to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year.
• Background check, compliance and references (2 references covering 1 year within last 3 years).
