Job Overview

Cross Country Nurses is recruiting a Travel RN for a 13‑week Progressive Care Unit (PCU) assignment in Anchorage, Alaska, with immediate start on 07/20/2026.

Job Details

• Location: Anchorage, Alaska
• Shift: 12‑hour night shifts (4x12 or 3x12, traveler’s choice)
• Schedule: 48 hours per week minimum
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Employment type: Travel

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized step‑down care for patients transitioning from the ICU.
• Perform complex medical procedures, telemetry monitoring, and advanced patient management.
• Administer IV insulin protocols, blood products, and manage BiPAP/CPAP as needed.
• Collaborate with a virtual nursing model, co‑care teams, and interdisciplinary staff (IV, PT, respiratory, pharmacy).
• Radiate daily patient ratios of 1:4 during day/night shifts and 1:6 for CNAs.
• Float into lower acuity units, including renal, neuro, and medical‑surgical areas with a focus on cardiac and respiratory patients.
• Work two of the three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) and accrue approved time off.

Qualifications

• Valid Alaska RN license (license required on first day of employment, pending license acceptable for exclusion offer).
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Minimum 1 year of PCU RN experience with Epic EMR; no other minimum experience required.
• Proficiency in BiPAP/CPAP, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care, chest tubes, and IV insulin protocols.
• Ability to work nights and a flexible schedule.
