Job Summary:
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse position is available at a healthcare facility in a day shift setting. The role involves providing independent nursing functions and delegated medical tasks according to state Board of Nursing standards. The PACU Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient recovery from anesthesia, offering supportive and restorative therapy, health teaching, and counseling. This role may require floating to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications, as well as being placed on-call during scheduled shifts.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Day shift, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week


• Required Qualifications: ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing) graduation from an accredited School of Nursing; current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice; BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) as appropriate for the unit or service.


• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree of Nursing; certification relevant to the unit or service; previous experience as a Registered Nurse.


• Additional Information: The PACU Nurse will perform clinical duties including health assessment, health teaching, therapy and treatment planning, documentation, supervision, patient referral, consultation, delegation, and performance of medical functions as delegated. The position involves providing direct patient care, monitoring therapy plans, and ensuring documentation complies with regulatory guidelines. This role may involve float responsibilities within the scope of practice and qualifications, and participation in on-call duties during scheduled shifts.
