Olaro is seeking a NICU travel nurse (RN) for the Oshkosh, Wisconsin assignment. The role requires experience in a Level II NICU with preference for Level III-level exposure, and comfort with high-risk deliveries, stabilizing neonates, and transfer coordination.

Shifts are 12 hours (nights), 36 hours/week, start 01/05/2026, for 13 weeks with no on-call requirement. Epic proficiency and BLS/NRP are required, STABLE preferred.

Position Overview

Ascension Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh is seeking an experienced NICU RN to support its Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The ideal candidate will have Level II experience and preferably Level III experience due to the acuity and stabilization needs of the unit. Nurses should be confident attending high-risk deliveries, stabilizing neonates requiring transfer, and caring for neonatal patients from 32 weeks and older.

No call is required for this assignment.

• Neonates 32 weeks and older
• IV antibiotics
• NAS infants (Eat-Sleep-Console + morphine weaning protocols)
• Infants requiring stabilization prior to transfer

Required Experience

• 3+ years NICU nursing experience
• Level III NICU experience strongly preferred
• Must be familiar with Epic
• First-time travelers considered upon review

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA)
• NRP
• STABLE preferred

Skills Required

• NAS management and weaning
• Attend high-risk deliveries (twins, VBACs, complicated births)

Support on Unit

• RT on-site 24/7
• Neonatologist on call 24/7
• NNP in-house some days (24-hour shifts; expanding toward full 24/7 coverage)
• CNA shared with L&D; acts as scrub tech during C-sections
• No dedicated charge RN; charge functions shared with LDRP team
• Phlebotomy not available in unit
• Centralized telemetry monitoring with tele-tech support

Scheduling & Orientation

• Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
• Time off: Up to 7 days may be approved
• No call requirement
• Orientation: Minimum 1 shift to learn workflow
• Holiday expectations vary based on unit needs
• Floating: May float to Postpartum as needed
