Travel Medical Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse job duties

- Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels, using telemetry equipment to detect any changes promptly.
- Administer medications, treatments, and intravenous fluids as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to protocols.
- Provide comprehensive care for patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions, including post-operative care, wound management, and pain control.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment options, and post-discharge care to promote health and recovery.
- Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures, ensuring patients' comfort and safety throughout the process.
- Document patients' medical histories, assessments, treatments, and progress accurately and promptly in electronic health records.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families, helping them cope with illness and hospitalization.
- Coordinate patient transfers to other departments or facilities as required, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education to stay current with advancements in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing practices.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and ethical standards in all aspects of patient care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all nursing interventions, patient responses, and any changes in condition.
- Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to support patients' rehabilitation and recovery goals.
- Manage emergency situations by providing advanced life support and other critical interventions as necessary.
