Shift: Night Shift, 4x12-Hour (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Compensation and Benefits:
• Weekly Gross: $3,116.00 Per Week
• On W2(Taxable): $960.00 Per Week ($21/hour)
• Stipend (Non-Taxable): $2,156.00 Per Week
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide patient care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry unit at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital. This position involves providing nursing care to patients with a variety of medical conditions, including those requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. The RN will monitor vital signs, interpret telemetry strips, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced RN with strong Med/Surg and Telemetry expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
• Patient Care: Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Med/Surg/Telemetry unit. Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio as required by the facility.
• Telemetry Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients via telemetry, interpreting and signing off on telemetry strips. Respond to changes in patient condition as necessary.
• Patient Assessments: Conduct regular assessments of patient health status, documenting findings and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to modify care plans.
• Collaborative Care: Work closely with the medical team to provide coordinated care, including providing updates on patient conditions and escalating issues when necessary.
• Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment plans, and health maintenance.
• Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations such as cardiac arrest or sudden deterioration in a patient's condition.
Requirements:
• License: Must have a valid Wisconsin RN license or a Compact RN license in hand at the time of submission.
• Experience: At least two years of recent experience in a Med/Surg, Telemetry, or ICU/IMCU unit. Experience interpreting telemetry strips is required.
• Certifications:
o Basic Life Support (BLS)
o National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Skills:
• Proficiency in interpreting and signing off on telemetry strips
• Ability to provide patient care in a Med/Surg/Telemetry setting
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to respond to emergency situations effectively

• On-Call: Not required.
• Weekend Requirements: Yes, rotation of weekend shifts.
• Floating: This position may require floating between units based on patient care needs.
• Weekend Requirements: Must be available to work weekends as part of the rotating schedule.
Vaccination and Health Guidelines:
• COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required by the facility.
• Flu Vaccine: Required by the facility, with medical/religious exemptions allowed.
