• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend. Every other holiday.
• Required Certs to be attached upon submittal: Must have current active IL RN license. AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS.
• Minimum Experience REQUIRED: Two years of strong Med Surg/TELE, 1 travel assignment. Neuro experience required
• Some Critical Care or Step Down experience highly preferred
• Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required.
• Patient Population: Neuro and Neuro-Surgical patients CVAs, elective back/neck surgeries, cerebral angiogram. General medical
• Skillset:Will also need to be comfortable taking medical overflow patients.
• NIHSS/dysphagia screen/strong Neuro assessments, basic tele interpretation, strict Is & Os/straight cath/Foleys, intitate/titrate heparin gtts., blood/blood product administration/venipuncture/blood cultures, NG tubes, indwelling drain management, stable gtts. (i.e. Protonix, Lasic, etc.). Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills!
• Unit Information: 22 bed Neuro unit - Ratio: 1:4 | Charge nurse will have patient assignment
• Hard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidates
• Scrub Colors: Navy Blue
• Covid-19 Vaccine Not Required - Subject to change
• GSA hours are not guaranteed the week of Orientation. Traveler is guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays where unit is closed
