Registered Nurse - MS/Telemetry Location: Cleveland Clinic Akron General, 1 Akron General Ave, Akron, OH 44307. Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00). Guaranteed Hours: 36 hrs/week. Tentative Start Date: 03/31/2025. Job Duration: 13 weeks. Number of Positions: 3.
- Weekly Gross: $2,295.00 per week
- On W2 (Taxable): $720.00 per week
- Stipend (Non-Taxable): $1,575.00 per week
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide care in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital. This includes administering nursing care to patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions while closely monitoring telemetry. The RN will work day shifts, providing 3 - 12 hour shifts per week, and will be expected to prioritize patient care and safety during treatment.
- Provide nursing care to patients in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Monitor telemetry and respond to any significant changes in patient status
- Collaborate with the healthcare team, including physicians, to develop and implement patient care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered
- Provide patient education and ensure families are informed
- Adhere to infection control practices and maintain a sterile environment
- Document patient care accurately in the EMR system (Qualivis – Lotus)
- Complete required ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate tests during orientation
- Work every other holiday as required by the facility
- Experience: Minimum of 18 months of recent permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
- Licenses: Permanent Ohio RN license or Compact State RN license in hand at time of submission
- Certifications:
- AHA BLS and ACLS required
- ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation
- Skills:
- Experience in telemetry monitoring and Med/Surg care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in infection control practices and patient safety protocols
- References: Two professional references from a manager, supervisor, or director in the Med/Surg Telemetry specialty. Perm references required from the past 12 months
