A Registered Nurse (RN) – MedSurg/Telemetry provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical (MedSurg) unit with a focus on telemetry monitoring. Responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring vital signs and heart rhythms, performing assessments, collaborating with healthcare teams, and providing patient education to ensure safety, comfort, and recovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment and Monitoring:
  • Perform assessments, evaluate vital signs, heart rhythms, and overall condition.
  • Monitor telemetry data, detect irregularities, and notify healthcare team.
  • Assess physical, emotional, and psychological needs, develop care plans.
• Medication Administration and Management:
  • Administer medications, monitor for side effects, and provide pain management.
• Telemetry and Cardiac Monitoring:
  • Monitor telemetry units, interpret readings, and assist in troubleshooting equipment.
• Wound Care and Post-Surgical Care:
  • Provide post-operative care, monitor incisions, and educate patients.
• Patient Education:
  • Educate patients and families on disease management, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
• Collaboration with Healthcare Team:
  • Work with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, participate in rounds.
• Emergency Response and Critical Care:
