Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Oakland, Maryland. You will provide direct patient care on a 20-bed Med Surg unit, with day shifts and 12-hour schedules, to support high-quality outcomes.

The role requires strong Med/Surg experience, active Maryland RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, NIHSS, and EPIC EHR familiarity. Expect 3:1 nurse to aide, weekend/holiday rotations, and orientation upon start.

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in the state of Maryland or eligible to practice.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification required.
• NIHSS certification required; PALS recommended but not required.
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg RN experience.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed Med Surg unit.
• Handle diagnoses such as congestive heart failure, pneumonia, post‑op care.
• Rotate weekends and holidays; 3:1 patient‑to‑aide ratio.

Job Summary

Medical Surgical Floor RN Day Shift Location: Not specified. This position involves providing direct patient care on a 20-bed medical surgical unit within the healthcare provider organization. The role requires strong med-surg experience, adherence to unit protocols, and collaboration with healthcare team members to ensure quality patient outcomes.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Licensure to submit a valid state license, BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS, NIHSS certifications, minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical surgical setting, and experience with EPIC electronic health records.
• Schedule: Day shift, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week, starting on 11/09/2026 and ending on 02/08/2027.
• Additional Responsibilities: Assisting with patient care involving diagnoses such as congestive heart failure, pneumonia, post-operative care, pediatric care, detox, and other med-surg conditions. Floating to other units as required, with a 3:1 nurse to aide ratio, and rotating weekend and holiday shifts.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS required for all RNs and LPNS, PALS recommended but not required.
• Training: 3-5 days of unit-specific orientation, including tour, policies review, and departmental training.
• Submission Requirements: Proper licensure documentation and certification proof required upon submission for consideration.
