Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) Nights Deaconess Gateway. This role involves providing high-quality patient care to a diverse population of medical and surgical patients in a 32-bed unit, with the possibility of increasing to 37 beds. The position requires a resilient and adaptable nurse with at least two years of strong medical-surgical experience, including trauma level II background and recent EPIC charting proficiency. The assignment involves night shifts, with a focus on assessment, wound care, IV therapy, and post-surgical care, supporting a team dedicated to excellent patient outcomes.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour Night shifts, 36 hours per week guaranteed, with potential for 48-hour requests upon approval. The assignment runs from 10/05/2026 to 01/03/2027.
• Required Qualifications: Valid active compact license; AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications; minimum of two years of experience in medical-surgical nursing, including trauma level II experience; recent EPIC charting experience (will be required to complete a checkoff class); minimum one travel assignment completed.
• Preferred Qualifications: Ability to work well within a team, adapt to change, and manage a busy unit. Experience in wound management, IV therapy, and telemetry is preferred.
• Float: Float to skill-appropriate units within campus; cross-campus float to affiliated location possible with two hours notice.
• Additional Information: The unit is led by new leadership with a focus on teamwork and experienced charge nurses. The role may involve precepting students and new-hires. Scrub attire is navy blue without competing health system or agency logos. The unit is considered a teaching hospital, and COVID-19 vaccination is not required at this time.
