Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (RN) Days Deaconess Midtown. This position involves providing comprehensive care to post-surgical patients, including whipples, vascular, pre/post heart caths, bariatric, ENT, podiatry, and open belly surgeries. The RN will work in a 41-bed unit with a 1:5-6 nurse-to-patient ratio during day shifts, supporting a collaborative team environment. The role requires adaptability, critical thinking, and strong assessment skills to deliver exceptional patient care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM 7:00 PM, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Current active compact nursing license; AHA Basic Life Support (BLS); NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); minimum of two years of strong Med/Surg experience, including trauma level II experience; recent EPIC charting experience (will include checkoff class); at least one travel assignment.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with PIV insertion, chest tube and indwelling drain management, CBI, stables drips (heparin, lasix, protonix), epidural management, ostomy care, blood product administration, tele-interpretation, wound care, pre/post heart cath interventions, and assessment skills.
• Additional Information: First to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh (IN) campus (8 miles away) and to Deaconess Henderson (KY) (11 miles away). Cross campus float may be required with prior notice. Unit culture emphasizes teamwork and celebration. No Covid-19 vaccine requirement currently; subject to change.
• Shift Requirement: 12-hour days, with every other holiday and three weekends every six weeks.
• Interviews: MSP interview available Monday through Friday.
• Start Date: 11/30/2026
• End Date: 02/28/2027
• Minimum Experience: 0 years required.
