Responsibilities

Labor and Delivery Nurses provide care and support for women before, during, and after delivery. They are responsible for ensuring that the medical and emotional needs of the patient are adequately met throughout the birthing process.

• Provide care to women and newborns during the antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and neonatal stages.
• Monitor vital signs of the mother and baby during birth.
• Screen patients for potential high‑risk problems.
• Educate and support mothers and families after birth.

Qualifications

• Active RN license.
• Degree from an accredited nursing program.
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS AWHONN certifications.
• At least 18 months of recent experience in an acute care Labor and Delivery setting.
• Other requirements to be determined by the client facility.
