HealthTrust Workforce Solutions HCA is seeking a Travel Nurse RN for Labor and Delivery in Dickson, TN. This 13-week travel assignment offers 36 hours per week with 12-hour days, at Tristar Horizon Medical Center.

Start date around 10/12/2026, with required certifications and unit-specific expectations. Expect to work in a high-acuity Women’s Services unit with strict safety protocols, neonate transitions, and rotating weekends/holidays while providing compassionate obstetric care.

Qualifications

• Must have labor and delivery RN experience.
• Ability to labor and recover the mother and transition the newborn.
• Experience with shoulder dystocia, PP hemorrhage, and OB emergencies preferred.
• Certifications: BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring training.

Responsibilities

• Provide labor, delivery, and recovery care for patients.
• Monitor fetal status and respond to changes in condition.
• Assist in C-sections, circumcisions, and other obstetric procedures.
• Collaborate with obstetric team to ensure safe patient care.

Unit Specifics

• Number of Beds : LDRP 9 beds, OBED 1 bed, NICU 4 beds, 1 OR suite
• Patient Ratios : 1:1 active labors, inductions, C-sections, couplet care 1:3,newborns 1:1 until stable, NICU 1:3 intermediate care, but 2 NICU nurses must be in the unit if there are
• Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : no techs or unit secretaries
• Type of equipment: CPN Central monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, tele-med robot for neonatologist, bili-blankets, PCA pumps
• Documentation system: Meditech and CPN
• Scheduling requirements: FT 3 shifts per wk., rotating weekend and holidays, PRN’s to complete
• Floating policy: regular staff, if scheduled and not needed on the unit, are expected to float anywhere within the facility as needed, some staff are cross trained to float between LDRP & NICU
• Patient Experience requirements: daily rounding on all patients, SAFETY rounding

Requested Skill Set

Must have: Labor and delivery experience including the ability to labor and recover the mother as well as receive and transition the newborn including assessment. Experience with shoulder dystocia, PP hemorrhage, and other potential OB emergencies preferred.

Advanced skills needed: Fetal monitoring education, experience with inductions (Pitocin, cervidil)

Procedures performed on unit:C-sections, circumcisions, intra-uterine monitoring, vacuum or forceps assisted deliveries

Certifications Required: BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring training

Dress Code: (Required uniform)

• Pink and/or brown scrubs required per the infant security policy for the unit
