Unit is Womens Services at Tristar Horizon Medical Center, with typical patient mix and collaboration across obstetric teams. Travel RN candidates should be able to float per policy and support safety and quality care.

• Must have labor and delivery experience including the ability to labor and recover the mother and transition the newborn.
• Experience with shoulder dystocia and postpartum hemorrhage preferred.
• Must have charge experience on a labor and delivery unit.

Unit Specifics:

Number of Beds : LDRP 9 beds, OBED 1 bed, NICU 4 beds, 1 OR suite

Patient Ratios : 1:1 active labors, inductions, C-sections, couplet care 1:3, newborns 1:1 until stable, NICU 1:3 intermediate care, but 2 NICU nurses must be in the unit if there are

Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : no techs or unit secretaries

Type of equipment: CPN Central monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, tele-med robot for neonatologist, bili-blankets, PCA pumps

Documentation system: Meditech and CPN

Scheduling requirements: FT 3 shifts per wk., rotating weekend and holidays, PRN’s to complete

Floating policy: regular staff, if scheduled and not needed on the unit, are expected to float anywhere within the facility as needed, some staff are cross trained to float between LDRP & NICU

Patient Experience requirements: daily rounding on all patients, SAFETY rounding
