Job Summary

The Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) registered nurse (RN) position is located at a high-acuity hospital, providing critical care for adult patients with complex illnesses. This role involves delivering advanced nursing care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and managing various cardiac and respiratory conditions in a fast-paced environment. The position offers an opportunity to work within a sophisticated cardiac program and grow expertise in high-level patient management.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, from 7:00am to 7:30pm, Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required.
• Required Qualifications: Licensure as a Wisconsin RN or Compact RN, BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association, 3 years of recent acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty, and Epic electronic charting system experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Community hospital experience, LTAC experience, trauma level I or II experience, and travel experience.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS.
• Skills: Cardiac telemetry, arterial line management, central line care, chest tubes, IV therapies, management of vasoactive drips, dysrhythmia interpretation, medication administration including Heparin protocols, and invasive monitoring.
• Additional Information:
  • Traveler must pass telemetry and cardiac interpretation exams prior to being cleared to start, with success criteria including identifying lethal rhythms and no incorrect answers on specific questions.
  • Orientation hours total 36.
  • Floating as needed is required.
  • The assignment location is a Magnet-designated hospital ranked as Wisconsins #1 hospital, known for its advanced cardiac care and collaborative environment.
  • Minimum of two years of recent acute care experience in the specialty is required.
